SRI SRI BANDHU KUNJ, VRINDAVAN

At the background of establishment of this temple and ashram, there is a sweet history of lovely relation between a devotee and the Radhrani, the supreme authority of Vrindavan in the spiritual world.

40 years before this temple was established Dr. Mahanambrata Brahmachari visited Vrindavan, took a vow in front of Radharani that unless she allows him to establish a temple of Lord Bandhu Sundar at Vrindavan, he will stop visiting Radharani and then Dr. Brahmachari visited Vrindavan only after such a long gap. The temple was originally inaugurated at a small compound belonging to Sri Deben Das in the year 1986 during Raas Purnima. Within a year with the immense grace of Lord Bandhu Sundar and Radharani further bigger plot belonging to the famous Lalababu’s Sri Krishna Chandra Temple was acquired and a new large temple was established during 1987 Raas Purnima.

It is gathered from authentic sources that Lord Bandhu Sundar used to visit this plot to have a view of Goddess Durga during Durga Puja which used to be held by Sri Lalababu on this very plot of Vrindavan. Presently there is a charitable dispensary operating at this ashram. This is also the registered office of Brajadham Bangiyo Parisad which was established in 1992 at the initiative of Sri Upasak Bandhu Brahmachari who is the present secretary of Mahanam Sampradaya & Mahanam Sevak Sangha. The other important founder members were Dr. Vinod Bandopadhyay, Sri Panchanan Deb Goswami and Sri Phanilal Goswami. The aim and objective of this organisation is to uphold and develop Bengali culture and tradition at Vrindavan and to unite the Bengali intellectuals of Vrindavan under its banner. The important activities of this Parisad are to organise weekly Harisabha, Rabindra Jayanti, Netaji Jayanti, Eye Camp & other welfare activities etc.
