The Prabhu Jagatbandhu Ashram of Puri was originally the house of Srimati Shanti Das who was the disciple of Sripad Kunja Dasji, one of the close companion of Prabhu Jagatbandhu. This house was donated by her and during July, 1977 a Trust named Prabhu Jagatbandhu Puridham Shanti Trust was registered jointly by Dr. Mahanambrata Brahmachari and Haridas Brahmachari (of Dahapara Dham) for establishing and running a temple here. Initially a small temple was established with the help and kind contribution from a devotee named Jaladhar Hazra. Later on, this temple, the trust and all the properties were transferred to Mahanam Sampradaya. In 1992, this whole temple was remodeled by Dr. Mahanambrata Brahmachari with a sea facing temple and foyer (Nat Mandir), its extension on the second floor, rooms for accommodating devotees and visitors on the first floor and a hall on the ground floor.
